SUDECU Movie Festival in Skopje

Project developments can also be shared artistically. In this spirit, the Macedonian NGO TAKT organized the first SUDECU Movie Festival in Skopje to showcase the development of various peer initiatives over the past few years.

At the end of May, the Macedonian NGO TAKT (Together Advancing Common Trust) organized a movie festival in Skopje as part of the Sustainable Democratic Culture (SUDECU) project. The festival showcased photos and products from peer initiatives in the SUDECU program and brought all peer groups together for an exchange.

The cultural and artistic event opened with speeches from representatives of TAKT, the Swiss Embassy in North Macedonia, representatives from the Department for International Projects in Education (IPE) at the Zurich University of Teacher Education as well as the Faculty of Pedagogy at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje. The festival continued with a screening of films created by the project participants and was followed by a panel discussion where they shared the results of their peer-led project activities and the challenges they encountered.

Both TAKT and the Department IPE were honoured to welcome Ms Carmen Thönnisen and Ms Stanislava Dodeva, representatives of the Embassy of Switzerland in North Macedonia. Moreover, the festival was an impressive showcase of the project’s diversity, with participants including representatives from local municipalities. The short films offered valuable insights into the wide range of SUDECU projects. As such, it was inspiring to see how quickly and widely the „SUDECU family“ is growing.

More information on SUDECU is available on the official project website.
