PH Zurich joined NGO TAKT in North Macedonia to celebrate its 10th anniversary, while planning the next steps of the Sustainable Democratic Culture (SUDECU) project. Alongside the celebrations, the visit included a full-day workshop to reflect on the project’s achievements and future plans.
At the end of April 2026, Nadine Ritzer and Séverine Chuffart Balmer from PH Zurich’s Department for International Projects in Education had the privilege of joining the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the North Macedonian NGO Together Advancing Common Trust (TAKT). TAKT is a close partner of PH Zurich and a vital part of the Sustainable Democratic Culture (SUDECU) project, which is running from 2023 to 2026 in Skopje, Kriva Palanka, and Kumanovo.
The visit featured a full-day workshop bringing together TAKT, City-Trainers, SUDECU group members and two Parents‘ Circles. Together with Maja Raunik Kirkov from the Ss. Cyril and Methodious University in Skopje and Magdalena Spasovska from TAKT, participants reflected on the project’s achievements using the Council of Europe’s RFCDC framework and practised peer-learning communication, while Nils Bosshard, a student in PH Zurich’s Global Learning elective, supported the group in planning the future with elevator pitches.
Over the past ten years, TAKT has helped communities across North Macedonia become more democratic and inclusive, through initiatives ranging from bee hotels and plogging activities to cooking groups. We congratulate TAKT on this milestone and looks forward to continuing the collaboration in the years ahead.
